allotment plans

I’m planning on a major revamp of my allotment this autumn and winter ready for next year. Basically I want to change the layout of the whole plot, and try and get on top of the weeds as much as possible.
I’ve been thinking about how I want it to look and function and talking to people and trying to read stuff.
Steve mentioned Feng Shui, which I hadn’t considered in terms of the layout, but I googled for it today and it’s definitely something I’d like to strive for, although I’m not sure how easy it will be to combine it with the functionality. I expect with a bit of thinking and planning it should be possible. I have always liked the idea of non-straight paths, but because I want to use the bed system I had just figured that straight paths would be easier. I think this is probably the case, but I’m now thinking that having curvy paths might not be as much of a hindrance as I first thought, especially since I’m planning on sowing new grass paths that hopefully won’t be too invasive, and so might not need such a structured border to the paths.
I feel a trip to borders and the library is needed to get more info. I’m determined to actually do some planning this time rather than just doing it there and then and ending up with something different to what I’d intended.
