A night in Visby prison!

We woke bright and early, showered and had breakfast, ready to leave at 8.30am.  It took us about an hour to drive to Oskershamn through more pretty forested landscape, still no sighting of Elk despite the warning signs everywhere!
We arrived in Visby at 2pm and walked the short distance to the hostel only to find it closed till 4pm.  To kill time we headed to the tourist info nearby to find out about cycle hire and buses to Fårö, then had a quick wonder around until I decided I’d had enough carrying of backpack!
Once checked in, we inspected our prison cell for the night.  It’s expensive for what it is, but it’s not every night you get to spend in a prison cell when you’re as good as me 🙂  We did some laundry, and then headed out to walk around the town walls and through the botanical gardens before wondering through the quaint streets to find food.
Visby is a very quaint place, I like it a lot.  I am also very tired and ready for bed!
